Those Rooting For Peter Obi To Become Next President Of Nigeria Are Mostly Igbo Boys - Prof Banji Akintoye

 It is no longer news that the presidential candidate of the Labour party, Mr Peter Obi has been enjoying widespread acceptance and growing popularity among Nigerians ahead of the 2023 presidential election. 


It would be recalled that Peter Obi who was vying for the post of the president under the people Democratic Party platform resigned from the party to join labour party where he later emerged as their flag bearer for the election. 


Reacting on Peter Obi's popularity, leader of Yoruba self-determination group, Ilana Omo Oodua, Prof Banji Akintoye told Punch Newspaper in an exclusive interview that majority of the people that are clamoring for Obi's Presidential bid are from the Eastern part of Nigeria. 




"They are not rooting for Peter Obi – not Yoruba boys. They (those rooting for Peter Obi) are mostly Igbo boys.Prof. Akitoye said.

Fanfare as Lagos Marathon ends

 It's was all fun and excitement at the Eko Atlantic City as Kenya's Bernard Sang won the 24 edition of the Lagos City Marathon. Sang finished 9th and 3rd at the Lagos City Marathons in Years 2020 and 2023 respectively. He braced the tape at 2hrs 15mins. His compatriots, Cheprot and Edwin Kiptoo finished in second and third positions respectively.
